Biorefinery represents a major step in the company's transformation. Several investments are taking place in order to develop an innovative and differentiated offering. The Biorefinery product portfolio will address well identified and unmet needs in specific industries outside of our traditional businesses. Some of the areas of development are: Micro Cellulose (MC) developing new applications for versatile business segments Lignin based products to replace fossil chemicals and materials Biochemicals including pulp mill by-products and functional chemicals for specialty uses Biofuels including gaseous and liquid biofuels We believe that product creation cannot be successful without a strong collaboration work together with our customers. In addition to being a renewable source of raw materials, our worldwide forestry operations provide us with a high availability of diversified wood species. Having access to a wide range of raw material such as birch, eucalyptus, pine and spruce, extends our possibilities in terms of research. This high availability of renewable and non-food competing raw material represents a real difference in the industries we are stepping in.
