Atlas Copco delivers oil-sealed rotary vane vacuum systems for central systems/house vacuum type applications. Examples are the vacuum systems used in the medical industry.
Rotary vane pumps for medical applications
The mVAC is such a complete vacuum system for medical applications, with 2 to 6 air-cooled rotary vane pumps with a central controller and a touch screen interface (HMI). The pumps work independently to satisfy the required demand, controlling pressure to a set point, typically -600 mbar(e)/- 450 mm Hg.
The mVAC vacuum system is used for all medical application where "suction" is needed: like liposuction, wound drainage and assisted wound closure, gastric, chest and lung drainage and removal of excess blood and bodily fluids during surgery. Thanks to built-in redundancy, the mVAC always has back-up pumps ready to ensure a reliable, constant supply of vacuum. The mVAC is designed, tested and certified according to all relevant medical standards. |
